GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Togo Eang Ecolodge is a sustainable private island providing eco-friendly stay with experiences that promotes ecotourism. We offers not only for vacation, but also for workshops, retreats, and private events. The island sized of 1.5 hectare covered with rain forest, surrounded with mangrove with 40m length white sandy beach. In the heart of coral triangle, there are beautiful reefs and corals around the island. The beach is also home for wildlife animal such as clems, sea shells, sea cucumbers, and coconut crabs. The island has no land connection to the village, makes it private and suitable for sustainable tourism. Producing our own electricity from sun, collecting water from rainfall and food from our permaculture garden, makes Togo Eang Ecolodge sustainably beautiful home of every human being and wildlife animal such as endemic species of Tarsiers and Hornbills.

With available sources of seeds, we cultivated and started seaweed and sea cucumber farming with goals to adding source of income to the island, protect the ecosystem from overfishing and also to create new jobs to the locals.

SOCIO-CULTURAL CONTEXT

As a small island habitants, we try to have habitants and visitors or tourists to a minimum number. We want to keep the island with 2 managers in place, hire 2 living in staffs, and seasonally freelance staffs for tourism. On the other hand, our newly made seaweed and sea cucumber farm is operated by 5 farmers from village nearby.
