The islet of Nosy Satrana is an integral part of the surrounding archipelago of Nosy Ankao and constitutes an important village of the most productive fishermen of the Loky Manambato.
Thanks to the level of protection from fishing and the location of the islands, the fringing coral reefs surrounding Nosy Satrana appear to be in good condition and exhibit high levels of biodiversity.
On the social and economic aspect, Fanamby collaborates with the State on the implementation of social projects aimed at improving the standard of living in households, in particular on health care accessible to isolated communities and the development of conservation programs led by communities. These remain a challenge to implement with technical and financial partners. For the moment Fanamby is hiring a doctor from Ampisikinana (Head of the Rural Commune) to provide care on the island with the implementation of the anti-covid-19 system as well as the multiple diseases linked to STDs.
