Islands Fund

SMILO created the Islands Fund to support islands engaged in the certification process. The Fund contributes to concrete operations featured in the Strategic Plan drawn up by the Island Committee, reflecting SMILO’s specific themes (water and sanitation, energy, waste, biodiversity and ecosystems, landscapes and heritage).

The Fund can inject between €3,000 and €50,000 into a project.

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Once an island has been Label in Progress-approved, it can submit a form to the Islands Fund requesting funding for a specific project.
  2. The Board of Directors assesses funding requests and validates (or rejects) them.
  3. The agreement is signed.

The SMILO Secretariat supports the Island Committee and the beneficiary throughout the whole process.
