After an Island Committee is set up, after the Sustainable Island Declaration and the Cooperation Agreement are signed and after the diagnosis and the strategic plan are done, the intermediary assessment takes place.
The assessment is carried by a rapporteur from the assessment committee who checks if all the steps are made.
This assessment allows to:
- Recognise the efforts already made by the island (identified in the island diagnosis) with the possibility of obtaining sectoral prizes by theme, if all the guidelines are met (“strategic principles” doc)
- Certify that the island is actively in a labelling process
