Sustainable Waste Management Conference

MEDITERRANEAN ISLANDS: LABORATORIES FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS?

SMILO joins forces with the French Embassy in Croatia and the county of Šibenik-Knin to organise a conference on waste management on Mediterranean islands on September 26, 2019 in Šibenik (Croatia).

The goal of this meeting is to present the specific challenges of islands in marine pollution and plastic waste management, and to highlight their significant potential for testing and developing innovative solutions to reduce and recycle waste.

Islands can help speed up the process to transition to a circular economy.

Beyond further encouraging to pursue the Franco-Croatian dialogue, this event will also contribute to a more integrated collaboration among Croatian authorities for the sustainable development of small islands.
