Adult Education Mobility – Erasmus+

Project “Network of territorial excellence for the sustainable development of islands”

Location: islands of Brownsea (UK), Corvo and Culatra (Portugal), Kihnu (Estonia) and Fourni (Greece)

Duration: 2 years (June 2020 – June 2022)

Financial and institutional partners: Erasmus+

Budget: 23,760 € from the Erasmus+ programme

Project presentation

This project supports the effective integration of new European islands into the SMILO network with a view to accompany them in a sustainable development approach. The islands of Brownsea in England, Kinhu in Estonia, Corvo and Culatra in Portugal, Fourni in Greece, were selected for this project.

Our team, assisted by active volunteer experts, will offer a series of trainings in SMILO methods and processes. The aim will be to train adults, representatives of key bodies for the development of the island, including local civil society organisations, to integrated governance mechanisms, to the implementation of a territorial diagnosis and the definition of a strategic plan.
